Goodbye To Brockville

Images from the Final Game

Saturday 17th May 2003 was a sad day for many Falkirk fans, but also a joyous one. We lifted the Division 1 trophy and rejoiced, but we remembered many a great game at Brockville Park while realising that things would never be the same again. The stadium will be demolished in June, but this page looks back on a monumentous occasion and celebrates what will always be Falkirk's home.

CALM BEFORE THE STORM

Prior to kick off......very prior! Gordon MacFarlane was in early to take these pictures on what would be a monumental day!

THE FINAL DAY

Coming close to kick off and the crowds are packing into Brockville. The pie shop sells the last pies, the Budvar tent sells its last Bud. The pre-match training is well under way and the cheerleaders, with some guest appearances from their Claymores counterparts, put on a show. Falkirk supporter and matchday programme editor Gordon MacFarlane gives it all a thumbs up.

Perhaps no longer as lively as the girls, but legends in the club history. The weel-kent of Falkirk past say hello to the fans and goodbye to a classic football arena

Nearly seven and a half thousand are squeezed into the 113 year old ground and await the whistle to start the game. Nerves are showing, but pride eclipses that

Pre-match training comes to a conclusion and now it's kick-off time. The last kick-off at Brockville Park!

Falkirk heroes Kevin James and Scott MacKenzie lift the Division 1 Championship trophy and then the team goes walkabout to show their appreciation to the fans. Yogi and Hagi stop by the disabled supporters to say thanks for their efforts.

The Falkirk Legends look on fondly, no doubt remembering similar moments in their careers. Once the team leave the pitch, the crowd comes forward to say thanks and goodbye - while also taking the pitch away with them!

The Falkirk fans get a chance to lift the cup. Another Yogi gets in on the act.

Time to go home, as the ground closes for the last time. The last supporters leave Hope Street and the last to leave the shed are Kirsty Hastings and Laura Simpson.....before the stewards leave, of course.

LAST BUT BY NO MEANS LEAST?????

A part of Brockville all the same, but not sorry to seem them go......the, ahem, "conveniences". And no.....Trainspotting wasn't filmed here (but it was on the shortlist).

Goodbye Brockville.......Westfield here we come!!!!!!!!
